Your Gluten Free Napa Guide: The 19 Best GF Restaurants
I think we can all agree that the main attraction in Napa is the wine, but food is the perfect pairing, which makes this a total foodie heaven too. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Napa multiple times, and over the years I’ve discovered some incredible gluten free Napa spots that don’t sacrifice flavor.
Whether you’re fully gluten free or just trying to avoid it when you can, these restaurants either offer dedicated menus or are great about substitutions and clear labeling. I’ve personally eaten at each one, and they’ve all made me feel like I wasn’t missing out on the full Napa food and wine experience.
So if you’re heading to Napa and want a few gluten free friendly places you can count on, here’s my list of favorites (in no particular order).
Gluten Free Napa
Napa Valley attracts some of the best chefs and restaurants around, all to find the perfect food and wine pairing. As a visitor, that puts you right in the middle of a total foodie paradise, and if you’re gluten free, don’t worry, you’ve still got plenty of options.
Below is my list of 19 personally tested recommendations, complete with some notes on what I ordered and loved at each spot.
19 Best Gluten Free Restaurants In Napa Valley
I won’t make you read any more, let’s jump right into my list of gluten free restaurants to eat at in Napa Valley, complete with personal recommendations and photos from my visits.
Best Gluten Free Breakfast
Start your day right with these gluten free friendly breakfast spots, whether you’re after a hearty sit-down meal or something quick before wine tasting.
1. La Cheve
La Cheve is the ultimate hidden gem. It’s first come, first serve, so get there early! Trust me, it’s worth the wait. We didn’t know that the first time we visited and missed out on a table before our first wine tasting, but luckily we found their to-go window on the side and still got to enjoy some of the best Huevos Rancheros (gluten free!) and a Burrito de Chorizo (not GF, but a hit). They also offer gluten free and vegan bakery items, plus coffee and even alcoholic drinks, mimosa flights, anyone? It’s just a quick five-minute drive from downtown Napa. The menu easily points out gluten free and vegan options.

2. Boon Fly Café

Just five minutes outside of downtown Napa, you will find Boon Fly Café. This cozy spot takes reservations, though we didn’t need one when we arrived around 8:30 AM. That said, it filled up fast shortly after, so plan ahead if you’re visiting later in the morning. The menu notes plenty of gluten free options, including a delicious slice of banana bread with lemon curd (so good!). We ordered the corned beef hash (gluten-free!) and the breakfast burrito (not GF), and both hit the spot. Great ambiance and solid coffee options round out the experience.
3. Loveski Deli
I can honestly say I’ve never had a gluten free bagel as good as the one from Loveski Deli. Located inside Oxbow Market, it’s a great spot for a quick breakfast, or really, any time of day. They do have seating, but it’s also easy to grab something to-go. Pictured is my gluten free everything bagel on our way to the airport (worth it), but I’ve also had the one with heirloom tomatoes which is also, so good. They offer sandwiches, soup, and salad too, and yes, there are non-GF options for your travel buddies. Bonus: Oxbow Market is fun to wander, and it’s within walking distance from most downtown Napa hotels.

4. Clif Family Winery

Let’s be honest, when you’re in Napa, is it ever really too early to start pairing food and wine? One of my favorite breakfast experiences was the Rise & Wine tasting at Clif Family Winery. They’re incredibly accommodating when it comes to food allergies. Located right off Main Street in St. Helena (about 30 minutes from downtown Napa), this tasting was such a fun way to start the day. When we visited in April 2025, it was $65 per person and included 4–5 wine pours, each paired with a breakfast-style bite. A knowledgeable host walked us through each wine and pairing, making it feel personal and relaxed. And yes, that flaky biscuit pictured? Totally gluten free, and absolutely delicious.
Best Gluten Free Lunch
Most of my favorite gluten free lunch spots in Napa Valley are in St. Helena, since we’re usually coming and going from wineries in that area. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite between tastings or a relaxed sit-down meal, these places have become my go-to’s.
5. Brix
Brix is set on a stunning property with vineyard views and both indoor and outdoor seating that feels elegant but relaxed. It’s hard to choose between a glass of wine or one of their creative cocktails, but either way, I always end up ordering the gluten free risotto. They offer a designated gluten free menu and are a solid choice for either lunch or dinner. Just under 20 minutes from downtown Napa, it’s a great stop between tastings or for a slower-paced meal. Reservations are a good idea. And yes, I’ve been too eager digging into the risotto to ever remember to take a photo! You are just going to have to go see it for yourself.
6. Farmstead
Farmstead, another great find, located just across from my #7 recommendation below. Reservations are recommended since it can get busy, but I’ve also had luck grabbing a seat at the bar without one. On another visit, we made a reservation and enjoyed a table outside. While gluten free options aren’t labeled on the menu, I had no trouble finding something that worked each time, and it remains a solid choice for lunch in the area.
7. The Charter Oak
Charter Oak feels a little magical, with a beautiful canopy of trees shading the patio, there’s truly not a bad seat in the house. Reservations are recommended, and the staff has always been incredibly knowledgeable about gluten free options, even though they’re not marked on the menu. I’ve always felt confident dining here. We started with the date appetizer, then shared the Caesar salad, burger, and fries, all delicious and gluten free. It’s also in St. Helena, about 30 minutes from downtown Napa, great option for lunch or dinner.

8. The Dutch Door

This is another hidden gem tucked away in downtown Napa, The Dutch Door is, quite literally, just a door. It’s a takeout-only, scratch kitchen with a few outdoor seats, offering thoughtful gluten free and vegan options clearly noted on the menu. While they don’t serve alcohol, you can grab a glass of wine at Alpha Omega Collective right next door. I had the Zesty Kale Bowl (gluten free) and, of course, fries (also, GF!), because I’m obsessed with fries, not because they were the perfect pairing.
9. Croccante Artisan Pizza
Croccante serves up Detroit-style gluten free pizza, sign me up! Located in downtown Napa and within walking distance of many hotels, it’s a delicious and convenient stop. I recommend making a reservation, but you might be able to sneak in without one depending on the day. They’re also known for their wings (not gluten free), but the pizza alone is worth the visit. One pizza easily feeds two, but we ordered two and had cold leftovers for breakfast the next morning. Cheat code unlocked, not all cold gluten free pizza is created equal, but this one meets the hype!

10. Ehler’s/Violetta

At the Table with Ehlers Estate is a wine and food pairing that’s absolutely substantial enough to count as lunch. While the price tag might feel steep at first glance, once you factor in both the thoughtfully prepared meal and the quality of the wine tasting, especially by Napa standards, it feels more than justified. We’ve done this experience twice, most recently at Violetta, and it continues to impress. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant, and each pairing brings out something new in the wine. Your host walks you through the story behind Ehlers Estate, and the pacing invites you to truly enjoy each bite and sip. Be sure to leave time afterward to stroll the beautiful estate grounds. Bonus, if you prefer to stay outside of downtown, St. Helena is a great option to be closer to many wineries, and Violetta sits inside of Alila Napa Valley, a Hyatt Resort.
Best Gluten Free Dinner
Most of my dinner picks are located right in downtown Napa, making them super convenient if you’re staying nearby, especially after a full day of wine tasting. Being able to walk to and from dinner without worrying about driving is one of the best perks of staying downtown.
11. Bounty Hunter
If you like BBQ, this place is for you! Bounty Hunter is located right in downtown Napa and offers a variety of drinks if you’re looking for a break from wine. We shared the Smokin’ BBQ Platter which was plenty for three of us to split, and it gave us a taste of everything while also being fully gluten free.
12. Los Agaves Napa
Although it’s not labeled on the menu, I find Mexican food to be one of the easier options to adapt for gluten free, and this spot is definitely worth a visit. Skip the wine and go for tequila or a fun cocktail while enjoying tacos, salsa, and chips (my love language). It was a great place to share plates with friends and just a short walk from our hotel (R Inn Napa), making it the perfect first night stop.
13. Grace’s Table
This is definitely one of Downtown Napa’s hot spots, so I’d recommend making a reservation in advance. While Grace’s Table’s menu doesn’t note gluten free items, I loved the Kobe Hanger Steak Frites (just keep in mind the fries are made in a shared fryer). I’ve also heard great things about their brunch. It’s a buzzy, energetic spot that’s worth checking out.
14. The Grove Restaurant
I’d recommend mapping this from your hotel if you’re staying in Downtown Napa, it’s definitely walkable, but depending on the day, you might opt to Uber back like we did once. The Grove Restaurant is part of The Culinary Institute of America, so the menu is always changing, making it a fun and unique dining experience. We’ve enjoyed two great meals here, just note that the service can be a bit slower due to the educational setting, so if you’re on a tight schedule, you may want to consider another option.
15. Oenotri
Oenotri is a charming Italian restaurant in downtown Napa that offers gluten free pasta and regular (not GF) pizza in a beautiful setting. It’s been a highlight of our trips, so much so that while I usually skip dessert without hesitation, the Blood Orange Granita with toasted meringue and agrumato totally stole the show (yes, even over the pasta!). If you appreciate a good meringue moment, this is a must. That said, the gluten free pasta options are delicious and worth the visit alone, but seriously, don’t skip dessert.

16. Celadon

Located in downtown Napa, Celadon is definitely your Instagram-worthy dinner spot. From the stunning entryway to the beautifully crafted cocktails, the ambiance alone makes it worth a visit. While I found the gluten free options a bit limited, I was still able to enjoy a great meal, and the vibe more than made up for it. If you’re looking for a place to capture the moment and enjoy a stylish evening out, this is it.
17. Scala Osteria & Bar
Scala was the perfect mix of great food, great company, great drinks, and a beautiful ambiance, all coming together for a memorable gluten free meal. I still remember the laughter and joy we shared while enjoying the delicious gluten free seafood pasta with mussels and shrimp in downtown Napa. They clearly mark gluten free and dairy free options on the seasonal menu, and the knowledgeable staff helped craft the perfect wine pairing experience. My husband, who isn’t gluten-free, had the roasted boneless half chicken and said it was totally worth it! 5 stars, definitely recommend it!

18. ZuZu

ZuZu is a lively and memorable tapas spot located right in downtown Napa, walking distance from most hotels, which makes it extra convenient after a day of wine tasting. If you’re looking for a little break from wine (yes, it happens), they have a fantastic lineup of gin & tonics, including a rotating special. I’m a G&T girl and this totally hit the spot. It’s a great place to go with friends and order a bunch of small plates to share. Between the two of us, we tried four dishes plus a dessert and loved every bite. The menu doesn’t mark gluten free options, but there were plenty of things that worked for me without feeling limited. It’s a busy place, so definitely make a reservation if you can!
19. Angele
Saving one of the best for last, Angèle is a charming spot right along the Napa River with beautiful seating both inside and out. We always choose to sit outside and soak in the view, but the cozy indoor space would be perfect for a romantic night in. The menu doesn’t mark gluten free items, but there are plenty of amazing options. I always go for the steak and fries, and a glass of wine, of course! The staff has always been incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming, and after dinner, make sure to take a stroll along the river. It’s the perfect way to end the evening.

20. [Bonus] Scomas

BONUS! If you have time on your way back to San Francisco from Napa, I highly recommend swinging through Sausalito and grabbing a bite at Scoma’s. This charming waterfront town is full of ice cream shops and cute boutiques to wander through, and Scoma’s is the perfect place to soak it all in, literally right on the water with an incredible view. Gluten free options aren’t marked on the menu, but the staff is helpful and happy to walk you through your choices. Even if you just stop for a quick drink and snack on the deck, it’s the perfect way to close out your Napa getaway.
